“What is that thing!” mod whispered to her staring at the corruption lurking out side the building

“It’s a malfested, I think they’re after Dessan”

“But why is it here?”

Zyhe examined the outside from the window “Stay inside Mod, for your safety”

“what about…”

“they seem to be fairly mindless, as long as it doesn’t see you it won’t attack you, please stay. In. side” she urged with each word
Zyhe slipped out the door before Mod had a chance to retort

The truth was Zyhe didn’t know why it was here, for sure they seemed to follow Dessan but why here?

Zyhe focused entirely on the thing in front of her, by comparison, the hideous amalgamations that her father had warned her in the workings of twisted alchemists— human and animal parts arranged according to his twisted imagination—seemed sane and normal. At least a clear intelligence had formed them.  a mind utterly lacking in any moral compass, but a mind nonetheless. This thing could only have been imagined by an utterly alien consciousness, some mad god dreaming in the restless sleep.
At first, the horror seemed more interested in making its own way to some unknown location than it did in stopping her. But then she strayed too close to a shambling thing the size of a very large horse, and it wheeled on her. It had once been a horse, she guessed, a horse and its rider, now fused together in a hideous mass of flesh. Something like six legs supported the thing, and interwoven cords of magenta flesh covered its sides, fusing what had once been rider and steed together. Jagged teeth jutted from various jaw-like structures beneath a ratty mane, and an orange glow beneath a three-cornered hat must once have been the face of the rider. A large great sword was almost swallowed up in the tangle of tentacles and flesh.

“ahh,ahhh, please…help us” the creature cried “ah…an unsightly beast, the terror looms, ahhh…the nightmare is coming”

Zyhe hesetated on the creatures speech, she had never heard of a malfested being more than a mindless mass. “the nightmare? Does it mean Knightmare?”

“have mercy….have mercy on us”

She couldn’t help but feel petty for the creature, it clawed at her that it continued to fight the malfestation even this far in.
The creature in front of her kicked hits hoof into the ground getting sturdy footing, it screamed an ear piecing wail something of a mixture of a agony and a houses neh, With each movement its skin folded and scrunched tightly, blood red and brown liquids escaping with each movement. The creature reached for its back and unsheathed its sword ripping it from the flesh it was grafted to, a curious sense of intelligence, as if it knew it wouldn’t win by natural thrashing and beast like resolve. His sword glowed with a pail light a hint to the man’s former glory. The light filled the area ever so briefly as words came from the creature

“there you are, my guiding light” there was a tone of eternal sadness in the man’s voice as he drew the blade up to his face in a warriors greeting, if only for a moment the creature seamed to regain a bit of its sanity

Zyhe said nothing, she carefully watched the creature’s next moves. Preemptively transforming her arms into bear claws, she couldn’t begin to think what the creature was going to do

The thing hissed louder and crouched like a cat before leaping towards her blade high and ready. Zyhe rolled into the creature under the swing and slashed across the beasts other arm in one fluid motion. It hissed and howled in pain and kicked out at her. She leapt back, catching the flash of metal on the blade attached to the hoof's end as she did and narrowly avoided being gutted.

"His whole body is a weapon," she thought moving with an artistic grace.

She watched as a second foot shot out at her, this time ready she transformed her head half way between a large cat and a humans and reached out to bite the leg. She caught it and was able to throw its balance off, leaving a horrid taste in her mouth of its mutated flesh and blood. Unsure of the contents of the blood she quickly spat it out. The creature unbalanced, raised its blade up and sent it down on her. She jumped back releasing the leg to avoid, the creatures second attack came swiftly following. A foot swung dangerously close to her. In her evasion she tripped over a body, one of the towns guard. She had mere seconds to analyze her next action.

the soldier had a halberd. there was a chance to then the creature quickly. She sprang to her feet and snatched up the halberd and pointed it at the creature. Right as she least expect it the beast hopped away from her striking distance. She didn’t expect it to be so cautious at this point, its definitely smarter than any malfested she had heard about.

It began to prepare itself for something, she was unsure, but it left itself wide open if she was only fast enough to close the gap, but the creature did it for. It charged forward. Zyhe planted the halberd in the ground beside her readying and at the last possible moment leapt to the side. The creature impaled its self with the halberd toppling its self over and sliding across the ground.
The creature screamed and flailed with the halbird imbedded in its chest. The thing thrashed wildly, its first registry of pain as it frantically hissed before subsiding after a few more seconds

Zyhe stood up with hands on her knees, she chased her breath. She had never had to fight a malfested before, this thing was quite horrific. It made all the stories that preceded them make sense. The madness that devoured them, the deformities. She felt lucky to be alive given her
She looked over at mods shop, she could see her looking back at her from her window. Zyhe smiled and gave her a thumbs up. Mod hesitantly returned the gesture.  Zyhe looked off to the heart of the city, either Dessan already knew or she had to warn him. The people here were in danger. He was in danger.

~~~~~~
Sin returned from his garden with fruits for the nights meal, though the world directly around him was peaceful, inside he was everything but. he was a whirl of emotion, he wanted to feel nostalgic but he couldn’t, he could only remind himself of the betrayal, there was the ever looming danger of the Knightmare following Dessan. If anything should happen to this town it would be his fault. He must hold true to his duty and protect this town, even if it was from his own negligent friend.
Sin placed his vegetables on the kitchen counter
“Tori!” he shouted into the other room “where is the rest of the food?!”
A few seconds later, no response. He looked around the kitchen, she was to get the meat and rice from town was possible she hadn’t returned yet?
He wondered to the front door, all the while contemplating what Dessan said. They had to stop Knightmare.
He stopped in the middle of dojo floor, his thought interrupted by a howl of some kind. He had never heard such a sound from either human or animal. He shook his head shaking the sound out maybe he had just made it up himself. But there it was again.
Sin snatched his sword off the wall. It came from the front of the building. He reached for the front and that’s when he saw Tori’s note. Inches from his face.
--Ira, I’ve gone into town to watch the traveling vaudeville show, don’t worry about the meat and rice, they are in the icebox and cupboard, please don’t break anything this time.--
He creaked open the front door. The sounds were unnatural. No human could have made that sound. He scanned the path leading up to his building. Thought there was nothing to be seen in the darkness, the distant sound of dragging metal could be heard from main road. He turned and closed the door, cautiously- there was no hurry here. A tall, muscular malfested appeared at the end of the road he was dragging a large great sword on the ground behind him. Its metal wrapped and twisted into his arm. Its face seemed to have been merged with a dog or canine of some kind, its nose was long and hair grew much thicker than a humans.  With each step he made the chains draped over him rang out, it appeared as though he had tried to be subdued at one point. Sin watched it carefully, taking a step forward. The pressure of his foot creaked the wood of his porch. The creature snapped its neck in in sins direction. Sin rolled his eyes – of course it heard him.
The malfested enraged at this point charged. Sin sighed deeply this was the start of the very thing he feared would happen. The malfested swung his sword horizontally, sin easily hopped the blade. He spun on his heels unsheathing his sword in the same motion, he cut a deep gash in the creatures face, just below the nostrils. The creature screamed out, holding its bleeding face
“Heel. Like the good dog that you are” sin said holding his katana up at the ready he had never seen a creature so mangled like this one, it was almost too much for him, but the threat must me dealt with first he can erases its memory from his mind later.
The creature lashed out an arm swatting at sin blood showering him from his hand. Sin with a flick of his wrist removed the creatures hand from its wrist.  It howled, hand coming free of its arm as it stumbled backwards. Blood and some kind of a pus spurting from the stump. Sin stalked towards the creature that was howling from the top of its lungs. It swung its sword in blind defense. Sin parried the blow and quickly followed up with a thrust straight through the creature’s ribcage, a clean cut slipping through rib and leaving no blood. He ripped his blade straight down to the creature’s genitals slicing through flesh and vitals before pulling the blade out.
Sin pulled his blade out and swung it in the air. Removing most of the blood from the blade. Never in his years had he seen a creature like this attach the town. His first blame was to Dessan. He had to be at least part of the reason. But how many more were out there tonight?
Another malfested crashed through the fence leading to his pathway. This one similar to the last only carrying a club. It charged him and sin returned the charge coming in low and taking out its knees with the scabbard of his sword it screamed as sin slid to the side jamming his blade into the back of the creatures. It thrashed, turning to club him, sin brought up his scabbard and blocked the strike inches from his face, the creature had more strength than he gave it credit for. Sin pushed the club away and smashed it across the face with his scabbard with one hand and with the other bringing his blade down on its shoulder severing the shoulder bone. Sin withdrew his blade and the creature writhed and soon died. Sin examined his scabbard for damage and then his blood soaked blade thankfully no damage.
He walked out the front gate of his dojo and was nearly struck from behind by another creature’s blade. He let out an audible sigh- another one. He made one fell movement to remove the creatures head from its neck and it toppled over lifeless.
Sin rubbed his fingers on his head as if to massage a migrating away. He had to prepare himself for the worst.
~~~~~~

Tori watched from behind her bench, the hulking monster search for something, his crimson eyes scanned the area. Being outside the crowd when he landed from the sky allowed her to survive the impact in and with ensuing chaos find cover for her ambush.
“Sin would be here soon, no one could have missed that impact” For the time being, she would have to keep him occupied to the best of her ability if not there’s no telling what this monster would do.
She reached into her pocket and took out her throwing knife, waited for him to look away and then seized her moment hurling the knife at his head, never coming out of her cover

Knightmare saw the glimmer of silver as something was fired straight at him. The demon twisted his head to avoid the projectile, catching a glimpse of the knife flying by. He analyzed his surrounding calculating the trajectory of the blade. He saw the bench that Tori hid behind and approached. When he was close enough the Azure Knight brought Soul Edge around to cleave through the bench hiding the fool that dared to strike him down with a measly attack. He struck down splitting the bench in two only for the pest was surprisingly quick to avoid Knightmare's evil blade. Tori rolled away from the bench and the demon caught sight of her.

"You cannot hide from me, wretched human!" he bellowed in fury “where is that which belongs to me!”

Tori did not yield under Knightmare’s harsh tone nor did she answer

“Did you not hear me, you little pest?” Knightmare spat, lifting his sword at her

“I understand you” she answered in a calm serious tone that aggravated Knightmare deeply

Knightmare’s monstrous claw tightened around the hilt of Soul Edge, He fell into his stance, making the Tori take a wary step back. He came at her with a lunging sweep sting his sword at her head, Tori intuitively ducked, right into Knightmare’s hand. He grabbed hold of her throat and raised her into the air

“WHERE IS HE!” Knightmare squeezed his grip tighter around Tori's neck, she clawed and scratched at his arm, the encroaching suffocation only slowing her down. It was useless though, Knightmare had more strength in his little finger then she did.

“Now, now. You know that’s a loaded question” Jon said from the stage

“Where is Dessan? Where is my shard?” Knightmare drew his attention to Jon dropping Tori to the ground. She writhed on the ground gasping for air. Knightmare looked down at her, her gasping like nails on a chock board to his ears. He kicked her to the side and drew his attention back to Jon

“is this what you’re talking about?” Jon sat on the stage tossing a crudely made imitation of the soul edge shard up and down “what a mindless beast you are”

“Do not mock me!” nightmare shouted

Jon hopped down from the stage and tossed the shard at Knightmare, who batted it away.

“Truth is” Jon whipped off his make up with the sleeve of his shirt, it did little more than smear it across his face “I haven’t had a chance to pay you back for Calpis”

“Come, release your soul to me, for eternity” his giant claw eagerly grasping at the air

“You call yourself Nightmare?” Jon tried to suppress his laughter. “Only a teenage boy crying out to his parents would call himself that!”

“I am not a mewling child!” Nightmare roared. He pointed Soul Edge at him

Jon curled up his fist and slid down into a fighting stance, a chill ran down his spine, his feet felt heavy. Dread. He knew this feeling, every time he was in a situation he couldn’t get out of, and there was no getting out of this. This time sterling wasn’t here to save him could he even make it out alive? Something told him no, was it his own doubt? The demon standing before him? Fear? He wasn’t listening at this point

Jon moved in, Knightmare brought his sword down slamming it into the ground with a miss. It took everything Jon had to dodge the swing. If Knightmare tried any harder he would have his head. He eyes snapped down to his feet the sword just barely missing. Back up to Knightmare helm he threw a punch as hard as he could the impact of the punch on Knightmare armor sent a stinging shockwave back though Jon’s arm. He could see Knightmare glowing rage form the eye slit in his armor looking back at him, Jon begrudgingly smiled at him, and he knew it was the wrong move, but what else could he have done?

“Insolent fool!” he batted Jon away with his claw sending him into the nearby wall

Jon slammed against the wall, knocking his skull against stone. He coughed, doubled over and struggling for breath. He watched as someone else took their turn attacking Knightmare. He could tell by the signature silver hair it was sterling.
Sterling jumped off the room of the nearby building down onto Knightmare as his arm finished it swing. Her only opening would be while the brute was distracted, and all thanks to Jon she had her chance. She extended two hidden blades from her wrist. She landed on top of Knightmare her bladed finding their mark inside the eye slit of his armor. Knightmare screamed, not of pain but of rage, the attack only steered the hornets’ nest. Sterling caught a glimpse of his claw coming up to grab her, she broke the blades off where they sat and jumped off him landing next to Jon. Knightmare ripped the blades out of his helmet and tossed them aside

“Conceited retched human!”

“Hi…sterling, dea…r” Jon managed though his gasps

Sterling kicked his weak body back over to the ground “don’t dear me! What do you think you’re doing picking a fight with this thing?”

“no…one…else was” he gasped

She grabbed him by the collar and lifted him to his feet “what are you stupid?”

~~~~
Tira was happy. She could not remember feeling passion burn within her heart this strongly, nor having ever before tasted the dark energies flow through and around her in such a delicious way. The Azure Knight had Soul Edge, she had the final shard and all was as it should be. How had this come to pass? Simply enough; she did her master's bidding. Warrior after skilled warrior had fallen by her beloved blade, including those delusional, unworthy men who dared think they deserved to host her master. His demands were often great, but it was his right, because he was right, always - and she was his right-hand woman, and she relished it. Being his pawn gave her what she needed to survive, what she longed for secretly, and fulfilled her deepest, most desperate desires of which even she remained unaware.
She checked her back looking for Siegfried or Dessan "They come again." She thought “should have ended him when I had the chance” now she would have to deal with Siegfried and Dessan, no doubt that they would also be heading back to the city, no doubt they would challenge Knightmare.
Her ring blade lay casually draped over her shoulder as Tira perched atop the archway over the near ruined town of sienna Gorge. She watched as the malfested shambled through the city occasionally being encounter by the petty city guard trying to defend themselves and the city. It was truly a sight to behold, it filled her with excitement as she watched the chaos below
Rustling in the breeze, blood on the air, shadows flickering. She looked down into the town square. Two - no, three people. And her master. All she hadn’t formerly faced but she would not need her ravens for this.
She created a brim with her hand shutting out the moonlight getting a better look at those repugnant few with her master. Two of them were relatively unfamiliar, yes. That did not concern her; they would be easy prey. The third was Jon her pawn; in tonight’s game. Thanks to him she made contact with Dessan, thanks to his blabbering mouth the next phase could start
“Shouldn’t keep master waiting”
She hopped down from her perch onto the roof tops making her way towards her master.
~~~~~

“Look someone has to stop this guy!” Jon argued waiving at Knightmare “there’s no one here stepping up to the plate”

“That doesn’t mean you go into a fight, one you know you can’t win” sterling argued back “were not going to be here every time to save you from your stupid decisions. You’re going to get yourself killed!”

Something caught sterling’s attention out of the corner of her eye, it glinted in the moon light and moved quickly, past experiences told her it was a knife aimed Jon. There was no time to warn him though it speed was too fast for word

“JON WATCH OUT!” Sterling shouted tackling Jon just in time for Tira’s ring blade to fly above their heads. The ring blade landed in the building next to them with a loud THUD. She must have been getting rusty such a large object and she simply thought It was a knife, if not for her Jon would have easily been bifurcated by such a weapon. But who threw it? A sizable weapon had to have something behind it, things don’t got throwing themselves.

Tira giggled as she walked towards them “you’re quick on your feet lady”
Jon looked up from the ground, struggled away from sterling’s hand that was pushing it into the dirt. The girls voice sounded familiar. He saw Tira and remember who she was, the one that asked him to contact Dessan for her “hey I know you! What’s going on here!” Jon shouted

“What does it look like silly, I tried to cut you in half”

Jon was silent, he wasn’t stupid he could piece it together, the trap he had fallen into, the one he put Dessan in. and how this girl was connected to everything. She was here with Knightmare

“Tira you succeeded in your mission?” Knightmare asked his tone still harsh almost degrading to the girl “you wouldn’t be here otherwise”

“Yes master, as you asked” she knelt down in front of him “that which was stolen” she raised her hand to him in it the shard of soul edge that she had taken from Dessan

Jon saw the shard that Dessan had had in his position, if she had it and he wasn’t here that could only mean one thing “WHAT DID YOU DO TO DESSAN!” Jon shouted

Tira looked back at him and winked sticking her tongue out at him as a playful taunt. Sterling and Jon both looked at each other, knots formed in their stomach their body’s turned cold. Both had the same feeling that they just lost their friend, but they didn’t want to believe it.

“What is the meaning of this?” Knightmare growled at Tira

Tira looked back at her master confused by his question. And then an whisper on the wind

“Yami ga, Wa-ga-te-ki-wo, Ku-ra-u”

Then it hit her. The pain and realization. Her arm was gone, missing, cleanly cut right above the elbow. She grabbed her arm and fell over on the ground screaming as the pain of the cut surged through her body her screams soon mixed in with the towns folk.
Above her Knightmare searched for the assailant, the speed at which the attack came from was like nothing he had seen before, but the assailant couldn’t be far. To his right stood the man who took his minions hand, Sin. in one hand his bloodied katana in the other Tira's arm still holding the shard.

Sin examined the shard, closer this time. Such an absurd thing to fight over. He look back at nightmare so this is the monster
They stared at each other sizing the other up, sin;  from top to bottom and bottom to top as quickly as he could before finally focusing on the Knightmare’s mutated arm and sword, there was no sign of weakness in the brutes armor. Knightmare looked him over but found no threat greater than any other pest he had fought before. Sin was just another soul for the sword.
He watched Knightmare bend down before beginning his charge at him, head down like a raging bull and sword close but ready to swing. The ground trembled as Knightmare bore down upon Sin and raised his sword to swing. As his sword came down sins sword came up and Knightmare could hear sin wisper out a few words to himself “Shinryaku-tekidenai yōsai” their blades clashed, sins small katana seamed to absorbed most of Knightmare’s large slab of a sword and then reflect its energy back. As if the sword pulled him backwards Knightmare stumbled back with this opening. He regained himself and looked over at his armor, something felt off with sins strike, it was unlike others that ever struck him. It was fine, focus exactly what it needed to be. Most men who struck him barely left a scratch on his azure armor.

His shoulder armor cracked and splintered. Knightmare now knew what he was dealing with. He had seen it once before with other fighters like him, the samurai- this was a martial art

“a martial art skill?” Knightmare asked

“Your armor is pretty tough” sin subtly admitted “I’ll have to aim for something softer”

Jon watched sin and Knightmare fight from the side thankful that at least there was someone who could carry on his fight, someone more suited for the job

~~~~~
“Were leaving” sterling said grabbing him by the back of the collar. If they were to get out of this if had to be now
“Wait what?” Jon argued back
“Dessans friend has it now, we need to tend to the ship for worst case scenarios” sterling said back
“Sterling theres too much going on here, we need to stay and help these people. The malfested are running rampant right now”
Sterling growled at Jon's kindheartedness, frantically rubbing her eyes a finger and thumb. She did not want to be in the fray but something told her to stay and help. She stood unable to decide between self-preservation or doing what was right.
She screamed madly rubbing her hair with her hands “FINE! You help the people get safety” There was a disgruntled sigh “ill help with the Malfested”
Before they could move the ground shook and hurricane like winds blasted them from the front. They could barely stand against it as they tried to see where it came from.
~~~~~~

Sin was able to out maneuver Knightmare for the most part. He had him on the defense with his martial arts, Knightmare knew he couldn’t take another hit like the first, he knew his opponent would make the same mistake twice.
He swung his sword again at sin, sin parried the sword away and redirected it to the ground. With his opening he delivered a forceful kick into the Knightmare’s center of gravity he stumbled back and drove his sword straight in the ground point first, he saw sins next attack coming he was already moving in sword raised.

Just as sin was about to bring his blade down on Tira lunged in front of him. Sin never hesitated his strike. His blade cut down through her left shoulder into her mid chest.

Sin stood staring at her if her attempt was to get him to stop his attack she should have known better. Tira smiled back at him blood pooling and dripping from her mouth

“A pointless attempt to save your masters life?” sin asked

“No” she wheezed “tonight, I will bring him your soul”

It was at this point that sin realized what she had truly intended.  While he had been distracted with Knightmare she had reacquired the shard. Tira slammed her hand into soul edge in it the last shard. The ground erupted and from the sword a enormous burst of wind and energy spewed out sending both sin and Tira flying. The blast engulfed Knightmare and engulfed him in a vortex of red energy.
Tira was sent flying into a nearby building. She crashed through the wall and landed impaled through the stomach on wooden shrapnel. Tira's body felt so cold. Funny how thousands of minor cuts and contusions could spread warmth through her, yet these two mortal wounds brought a deep chill, one no blanket or hearth could cure. Her obscured vision began to blur further, she looked out at the dissipating vortex to see her master arising anew she smiled at her masters success, he had achieved perfection, she was happy to grant him this at the least. She looked to the sky, ravens came to circle above her as the world spun faster on its axis, and the darkening red sky began to get darker, and darker, and darker still...

~~~~~
The vortex of energy dissipated and sin cold see what had become of the Knightmare. it appeared  as a hulking armored beast vaguely resembling Nightmare. What was once azure armor and flesh had become a combination of armor and bone with an orange-ish red sheen his armor ablaze with purple flames. His helmet area had grown and developed a large crest-like shape and the muzzle-covering area has been removed to reveal a lipless mouth with long teeth shown and its eyes are a beady yellow. At the center of its chest was a glowing core of energy which spread throughout its upper body. a slightly long tail has sprouted from the base of the spine area. Flowing from its back are a pair of large, fiery wings. lastly  In place of his mutated arm was a giant claw and in the "palms" fully functional mandibles, this did not appear to hamper his ability to wield a sword in the least which had also mutated into a sword similar to the slab of metal he once wielded but now appears as a complexly of flesh and teeth.
He let out a ghastly howl, sin stood to his feet not quite sure if he should advance. This new creature was not to be trifled with- could it be trifled with?
Knightmare violently spread his wings, the flams extinguished and the resulting dust threw him back to the ground again. Getting up he could only roll to a side as a nightmare shot a beam of energy at him from his clawed hand. The ground behind sin exploded as debris was flown in all directions
“Come and play little maggot” a voice spoke in sins head, not his own and not one he recognized. It was knightmare’s
“Knightmare?” he said back
“I am terror- Knight Terror”
The winged demon rose above and launched its self at sin, sin had not the speed not the time to avoid the attack. He braced himself for impact guarding himself with his sword as best as he could.
Knight terror brought his sword down on sin but his strike was blocked with a blinding flash. When sins vision returned he saw standing above him, Siegfried guarding with the large crystalized sword.
Sin was terror-stricken, the power of these two combatants was like nothing he had ever see. Though he trained his whole life in the martial arts, taken men down with single blows, he couldn’t hold a candle to these men. Sin could only stare as the two combatants fought, his whole world had been shaken, he felt as though he was an ant quarreling with a boot, the mere mortal that he was. At first felt useless, rightfully so as he compared himself to these otherworldly men. And yet another feeling crept up on him deep down, he had failed his town, his master and everyone. He looked around at the destroyed town square. He had failed to protect them as these two monsters fought. Rage was next, Dessan was the catalyst for his failure, for destruction. He brought destruction to his city, one he had sworn to protect. Again, Dessan had betrayed his trust, betrayed his people and betrayed the city. He slammed his fist into the ground as he watched tears of rage poured from his eyes as everything he knew was falling apart.
“SIEGFRIED!” Knight terror roared with a scream that was almost joyful
“We were to late…” Siegfried gravely murmured
With each strike a flash of bright lights as it appeared shards of the crystal sword would shatter and then return from the air back to its main body.
Siegfried parried his sword both of the massive slaps slamming into the ground, knight terror followed through a punch with his freehand straight into the hand of Siegfried counter punch they stood in dead lock for only a moment.
Dessan leapt out from night terrors blind spot, this was the chance that Siegfried world him to take
“I have to finish this with one shot, I have to cut him down” ran though his mind as he pulled his sword back to swing against knight terrors exposed nape.
Time seamed to slow down for Dessan the adrenaline rushed though him distorting his perception, this was his chance his only chance and at this point he could only watch his body moved at this point. he watched as Knight terror kicked Siegfried away and spun around, Dessan could not react he was already in mid swing, knight terror reached out and grabbed him by the head as his sword struck against his arm, shattering to pieces against his flesh and armor
“Ah, Dessan” he threw Dessan to the ground “you return to witness the end”
He raised his large sword above his head. Siegfried took his opening slashing his sword up across knight terrors exposed back. His strike connected on his exposed back, cutting a gash up the back missing the spine, knight terror bellowed with pain as the purified blade seamed to burn him like an undying flame.
Knight terror spun back handing Siegfried with the broad side of his blade, a tactic that Siegfried too had used at one time. Siegfried was thrown back out of range giving knight terror a moment. The demon grimaced, doubling his wings over himself for protection. He attempted to swing back at Dessan, but he was too quick for him He was already on his feet second sword draw and ready. Siegfried slashed at him from another direction. He lashed out toward Siegfried swinging his sword high forcing Siegfried to keep his distance. The demon clapped his wings together, buffeting Siegfried back against a wall and giving him time to kick Dessan in the gut.
Siegfried came at him low, knight terrors back exposed again, instead of using his sword he attempted to grapple the demon he slammed his sword into the ground and wrapped his arms around the demons waist. With all the strength he could muster Siegfried could not move him, even with the crystallized armor of soul caliber amplifying his body it was not enough to move the demon.
“You’ve become frail and weak, Siegfried” he taunted
Knight terror forcibly ripped Siegfried’s arms of his waist throwing him off him. Siegfried reached back and gained his ground by grabbing hold of soul caliber. He charged knight terror again, this time he locked his legs against knight terrors knee and began pressing in a perfectly executed take-down and joint lock.  Knight terror may have been heavier but there was still the chance of him breaking his knee in only a few seconds.
In those seconds knight terror gained control of Siegfried’s right arm locking it behind his neck pushing his face into the ground. Knight Terror used his free leg and weight to pin him into the ground
“You fight for this broke world? See how it rewards you!”
Siegfried thrashed and flailed, he sputtered and coughed, struggling to get release. a sharp pain spiked from knight terrors still burning wound, he screamed as he reached back releasing Siegfried. In-bedded in his wound was Dessan’s sword. He ripped the blade out crushing it in his mutated claw. The pain blazed through his body
“ENOUGH!”  Knight terror hunched over, Dessan could hear the grunting sounds of agony. He was clearly in pain but the combination of their attacks were hardly enough to give him pause, he stood up again. He unfolded his wings and soared into the air he hovered above the town for but a moment the air folded in on itself, swallowing the demon, and he was gone
Desean stood, to take time to start to breathe normally again. searching his surroundings, everything had happened so fast, he never had time to take anything in. he watched Siegfried on the ground he was alive- barely. Sin still laying there a few yards away looking up at them. They had repelled Knight terror but it hardly felt like a victory.
where will we go from here...
